💪 Keto Meal Delivery you haven’t heard of
What is keto? Keto, short for ketogenic diet, is a low-carb, high-fat eating plan that aims to reduce body fat and improve metabolic health. The diet involves replacing carbohydrates with fat and protein, and typically consists of 70–75% fat, 15–20% protein, and 5–10% carbs per day.
What I love about meal delivery companies is there are so many to choose from and they can automate your nutrition goals. The hardest part is often finding the right one for you. Here are a few keto meal delivery companies you probably haven’t heard of:
Icon Meals: Their plans help people lose weight, gain muscle, and eat clean. Along with their keto meal plan, they offer plans for extreme protein, lean lifter, high protein plant-based, and get lean. Physically located in Texas, but ships nationwide. You can order one time or subscribe. Get 20% with code ICON20OFF. More on NoStove.com
ProMeals: They have a keto meal plan and also offer high protein, low calorie, and plant-based plans. They offer a la carte ordering and a subscription. More on NoStove.com
Territory Foods: They offer keto-friendly meal options they describe as: <15g of net carbs, plenty of non-starchy veggies and moderate amounts of healthy fats & protein. They also offer paleo, Whole30, mediterranean, and plant-based meal options. Explore the weekly menu and choose your own meals. More on NoStove.com
🎉 The Worst Meal Delivery I’ve tried
I’ve tried a lot of meal delivery. It’s nearly all edible. Most of it is good. Some of it really wows me. Only a few times have I been really disappointed. Mosaic was one of those times. In fact, while building nostove.com I would review all the services I tried, but I couldn’t bear to leave a two-star review for Mosaic, so you won’t find a review on the website.
Here’s my review if I had posted it:
I wanted to like Mosaic. They have a good story – vegetarian food, arrives frozen to help prevent food waste. The food just wasn’t that good. It also wasn’t healthy. We tried the broccoli mac and cheese, and it just felt like you shouldn’t bother putting broccoli in it because it doesn’t make it healthy. I know, our fault for choosing that one when there were other options! We thought out kids might eat it, but they wouldn’t. I also tried a meal with lots of bright veggie colors - beets, carrots etc. It looked good, but the texture and taste just didn’t deliver.
I write these newsletters because I want to support and grow the meal delivery community, but honesty and critical feedback are important too!
I’ll add the caveat that I tried Mosaic two years ago, they could have improved. And they’ve been around for awhile, so clearly plenty of other people like their meals.
